About Music for Wexford

Since its founding in 1993, Music for Wexford has presented audiences in Wexford with an engaging programme of chamber music concerts featuring leading Irish and international musicians.

Each year, we curate a series of concerts that combine well-known repertoire with lesser-performed works, presented by exceptional artists in venues across County Wexford. The organisation operates on a not-for-profit basis with support from the Arts Council of Ireland and Wexford County Council.

Music for Wexford is also committed to supporting the next generation of musicians. We collaborate with students from the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Cork School of Music, and award an annual bursary to an emerging musician from Wexford.

The annual programme is delivered by a volunteer committee working closely with the Artistic Director.

The Role

The Artistic Director provides artistic leadership for Music for Wexford, shaping and delivering a distinctive programme of chamber music that reflects both artistic excellence and audience engagement.

Working closely with the committee, the Artistic Director will develop a clear artistic vision for the series, curate the annual programme, and build relationships with artists, agents, and partner organisations.

The role combines creative programming, artist liaison, and strategic development to ensure the continued artistic quality and sustainability of the concert series.

This position is best suited to someone with experience curating or leading professional music programmes, festivals, or concert series.
