The first of three lunchtime concerts by students from the Royal Irish Academy of Music [RIAM] and Cork School of Music [CSM]
These concerts are devoted to groups from RIAM’s & CSMs third level programmes (BMus, MMus, DipMus, Recital Artist Diploma) consisting of students training at the colleges for careers as professional musicians. A special selection process is linked to RIAMs / CSMs chamber music exams, from which, outstanding groups are selected for the Music for Wexford recital opportunities, offering a professional platform for pre-professional chamber musicians.
We are delighted to present The Lucens Trio & Banshees Brass Ensemble.
The Lucens Trio explores 20th century and contemporary works for the less standard combination of flute, oboe and piano, Banshee Brass a programme based on musical history's fascination with the story of Romeo and Juliet, Johanna and Rohan present a programme exclusively by women composers who contributed significantly to musical history from the1900s to the present day (for some, perhaps not with the recognition deserved) and Éadaoin and Oana present a 2 part themed programme – the first part, songs inspired the nature, and the second part, Spanish themed Les Filles de Cadix and Obradors Canciones Clásicas Españolas.
