Exeter Cathedral Choir with Eamonn Mulhall

  • St Iberius Church North Main Street Wexford, WX Ireland (map)

Music for Wexford are happy to host a concert given by Exeter Cathedral Choir, with Tim Noon Music Director (previous Sub-Organist at St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin) and James Anderson-Bessant, organ, as part of their 2023 tour of Ireland. The concert will include choral classics from Byrd, Händel and Rutter, and will feature Wexford Tenor Eamonn Mulhall.

Described by Classic FM as “one of the country’s finest choirs,” Exeter Cathedral Choir leads around eight services each week during term time, maintaining a tradition that has been largely unbroken for centuries. It also has a busy programme of other engagements, which often includes tours (most recently to Austria and Slovakia), concerts, recordings and radio broadcasts. Recent engagements include Bach St John Passion (with Charivari Agréable), and Bernstein Chichester Psalms. The choir’s sell-out performances of Handel’s Messiah and Bach B Minor Mass were ecstatically received.

There are up to 18 boy Choristers and up to 18 girl Choristers in Exeter Cathedral Choir, including a small number of Probationers (learner Choristers). They enjoy the most remarkable, fulfilling and rewarding musical training, alongside a broad and balanced all-round education at Exeter Cathedral School. For boys and girls who love singing, a Choristership is a very special opportunity to develop all-round musical talent in the context of service in the Cathedral.
