Anamus Ensemble are a new and exciting international music ensemble of world class musicians with a like-minded vision to break down the barriers between performers and audiences. Programming music from all genres, often in one concert, the collective aim is to draw the listener into the performance in an entirely new way, offering them a chance to hear music with all their senses.
The ensemble was formed by Irish violinist Lynda O’Connor for her debut Avie Records album ‘The Irish Seasons’. Each musician was hand-picked by the violinist and when the ensemble bonded throughout the recording process, they decided to form a touring group.
You can expect a rip roaring evening of virtuosity from violinist Lynda O’Connor in Vivaldi Four Seasons and two concerti by cellist/composer Ailbhe McDonagh
Programme:
Ailbhe Mc Donagh World Premiere for Cello and chamber ensemble
Ailbhe Mc Donagh The Irish Four Seasons
Vivaldi The Four Seasons
"The Irish Four Seasons" (Ailbhe McDonagh, featuring Lynda O'Connor):
The Strad: beautifully judged, rewarding melding of Irish-style tunes and Baroque-style settings, from the shapely phrases in O’Connor’s pregnant solo opening to ‘Earrach’ (‘Spring’) to the unearthly, icy purity of ‘Geimhreadh’ (‘Winter’).
Ticket prices for this concert are €25, €20 (concessions) and €10 (students/unwaged) and will be available at the door or on www.eventbrite.ie (a booking fee will apply and there are no refunds).
