Chairperson’s Message

Since its foundation in 1993 Music for Wexford has presented to Wexford audiences an impressive programme of chamber music concerts featuring both Irish and international musicians. We also have a particular interest in promoting young musicians and singers at the start of their careers.

The annual programme is managed by a highly motivated team of volunteers. Programming on this scale would be impossible without the support of our “Friends*”.

We would also like to acknowledge the generous support of the Arts Council, Music Network, Wexford County and Borough Councils and Foras Éireann (the Shaw Trust).  We would also like to thank the rector of St. Iberius Church, Rev Maria Jansson and the verger Claire Verdon and James O’Connor and the staff of Greenacres who have welcomed us so warmly to their venues.

Each year we seek to stage a series of concerts that resents an attractive, interesting and sometime unfamiliar repertoire performed by wonderful musicians. Our biggest challenge is to attract bigger audiences; therefore we are also open to fresh ideas about the content, format and timing of our concerts. We hope our 2012 concerts add sparkle to your musical year.
