Concert Description:
Brian O’Kane began his studies at the Cork School of Music. He was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy where is now a student. A multiple prizewinner within the Academy, Brian has given numerous recitals in the U.K and Ireland and has toured extensively throughout Europe. He is a founding member of the award winning Cappa Quartet and is also a member of the London Steve Reich Ensemble which will soon record for the CPO label. Brian has appeared at many festivals throughout the U.K and Ireland including the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, Norfolk & Norwich Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Future engagements include recitals at St. James’ Piccadilly and St. Martin in the Fields, London.
Irish pianist Ciara Moroney is at present studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music. She began her studies in her native Cork and completed her BMus and MA degrees at the Cork School of Music, where her principal piano teacher was Jan Càp. Ciara has appeared as soloist with the Cork School of Music Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, Wexford Sinfonia and the Kilkenny Youth Orchestra and in recitals throughout Ireland and the UK. She has performed at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival and in concerts with the Irish Youth Choir and the Cork Children’s Chorus, with whom she undertook a tour of Japan in July 2006. She also participated in Wexford Opera’s Young Artists Programme in 2006 which was run by Dennis O’Neill.
